Elise Michelle Jordan-Calhoun passed away suddenly on January 28, 2012 at her home in Columbus, Georgia. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 2nd, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home at 2 pm, prior to a 3 o'clock service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church in Pageland.
Elise was born in Syracuse, New York, to Susan Washburn and Kenneth Lee Jordan and attended public schools in Baldwinsville, New York. She then graduated first in her class in medical billing at Boces Trade School in New York. Prior to moving to Georgia, she worked as a medical biller in New York. On January 28, 2011, Elise married Staff Sergeant Eden Henry Calhoun, US Army. They lived at Fort Benning, Georgia, with her beloved cats, Cookie and Chestnut.
In addition to her husband and parents, Elise is survived by her grandmother, Leila Mae Jordan, of Pageland, her maternal grandparents, Virgil (Marilyn) Washburn and her aunt, Wendy (Todd) Bowers, of Rome, New York, extended family and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Otis Lee Jordan, of Pageland, her aunt, Betty Ann Jordan Knisley, and her grandmother, Charlotte Washburn, of Rome, New York.
The family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3795 Pleasant Plain Road, Kershaw, SC, 29067 or a charity of one's choice.


Service Information

FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel
INTERMENT: to follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery
VISITATION: 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Thursday,prior to the service at the Funeral Home
