Miss Elsie Mae Black, age 81, entered into rest on Sunday, April 2, 2017. Funeral Services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Dr. Troy Rogers and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, April 3, 2017 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Miss Black was born May 27, 1935 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late William Pete and Mamie Joplin Black. She was a homemaker and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Miss Black enjoyed listening to bluegrass and southern gospel music. She also enjoyed selling Avon and talking with her family and friends on the phone.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was also preceded in death by her sister, Doris Ann Melton; and 1 brother, Hazel Black.

Survivors include her brother, Jerry Black of Ruby, SC; numerous nieces and nephews including Tim and Debra Melton of Ruby, SC.
