MR. EMSLEY A. "TUNNIE" FREEMAN
On Tuesday, February 15, 2011 after an extensive surgery at Providence Hospital, Emsley A. "Tunnie" Freeman went home to be with his Lord. He was born August 6, 1934 in Chesterfield, SC to Nevelyn Eddins Freeman and Carey Franklin Freeman. He was married to his only love, Donna Davis Freeman, for over 52 years.

Tunnie was a long time member of Zoar United Methodist Church where through the years he served in several positions. He loved best meeting the church's needs that he saw, from an ice maker, or a lawn mower, to a playground, a cemetery extension, purchasing property, or building a parsonage. He loved his Sunday School Class. He was a Mason and served in the S.C. National Guard.

Tunnie loved the outdoors. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and feeding the backyard birds. He loved riding his grandchildren on a tractor, pulling them through the snow, and riding them in a boat. Every spring he planted many vegetables to be able to share with his friends.

Tunnie was blessed with two wonderful children, Emsley D. "Dusty" Freeman and Christy, who married Wayne Truesdale. He felt blessed that they all lived in Chesterfield and remained so close to him.

Tunnie's "special loves" were his five grandchildren, Anna and Seth Truesdale and Chase, Lanie, and Jonathan Freeman. He was so proud of them and enjoyed every moment he shared with them.

Tunnie was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Freeman and David Harold Freeman. He has one sister, Annelle F. Demby, and one brother, Joe Freeman and wife Alice of Florence, SC. Sisters-in-law are Bobby W. Freeman and Annie S. Freeman. There are also many beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and friends that he loved, treasured, and enjoyed spending happy times together.
