Ethel Lee "Missy" Rollins Miller Eubanks, a beacon of faith and generosity, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025 after a life well-lived. Born on September 7, 1935, to Oscar and Louise Price Rollins, Missy was a woman whose hands skillfully created beauty and whose heart was open to giving.
A proud graduate of Jefferson High School, Missy channeled her talents into a career as a skilled seamstress. She spent many years dedicated to the craft at Jefferson Cleaners and Laundromat, and later, at home. Her meticulous work and creative flair left an imprint on every fabric she touched and on the lives she encountered.
Missy's love for the outdoors was as evident as her green thumb. Her garden was a testament to her patience and care, a place where she found solace and joy. Inside the home, her "Good Cookin'" became a cherished memory at every church and family gathering. Missy's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She served her church with unwavering commitment, taking on many roles and sharing her light with all those around her until dementia dimmed her shine.
Predeceased by her parents, her husbands, Edwin Miller and Haul Eubanks, brothers, Ray "Nick" Rollins and Gerald Rollins, sister Carolyn Rollins Shirley, and stepson Jeffrey Eubanks, Missy's legacy of love and devotion lives on through her family. She is survived by her daughter, Edwina Miller Brown of Jefferson, SC; her brother, Frank (Pat) Rollins of Social Circle, Georgia; brother-in-law, Jerry Shirley of Columbia, SC, sister-in-law Era Rollins Watson of Columbia, SC, and her stepdaughter, Lynda Eubanks (Jimmy) Dunn of Hamlet, NC. Each of these individuals, along with numerous other family members, church family and friends, will carry forward the memories of her faith-filled, handy, and generous spirit.
Missy's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the strength of faith, and the joy of giving. Her hands, always busy, worked to create not just material beauty, but also a legacy of kindness and love that will continue to blossom in the hearts of those who knew her. As we bid farewell to Missy, we celebrate a life that may have reached its earthly conclusion, but her influence will endure like the flowers and the vegetables she so lovingly tended in her garden.
A family and friends gathering to honor her life will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, Jefferson, on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Church Foyer, officiated by Pastor Curtis Laney followed by a time of informal visitation and fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 11078 Hwy 151, Jefferson, S.C. or to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home (843) 623-2449 to assist the family.
