Mrs. Evelyn Creech King, age 83, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Shiloh United Methodist Church by Rev. Fred McDaniel and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Nancy & Bill Brock.

Mrs. King was born September 11, 1935 in Marlboro County, SC a daughter of the late Hamer and Manara Jacobs Creech. A graduate of Cheraw High School, Evelyn went on to attain her business degree. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Indian Head Manufacturing, Chesterfield Dry Cleaners, and worked for many years as a substitute teacher with Chesterfield County Schools. Evelyn was affectionately known as “Big E” to all her customers and friends at the Sunshine Shoppe. She enjoyed making friends and was a true inspiration to all who knew her.

A faithful member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, Evelyn was a member of the U.M.W., former Sunday school teacher, and a dedicated choir member. A true people person with a heart of gold, Evelyn will be remembered for her gift of the ability to brighten everyone’s day.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Ted King; and sister, Catherine Coates; and brother-in-law, William Webster.

Survivors include her son, Gilbert King and wife, Renee; daughters, Beth King Suggs and husband, Henry, Nancy King Brock and husband, Bill, and Rebecca King Polson and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Bryce Alan Suggs, Alex Kingsley Suggs, Bailey Chadwick Polson, English Hiller Brock, Eliza Maria Brock, Hailey Alissa King, and Bella Elizabeth Polson; brother, Wilson Creech and wife, Joann of GA; sisters, Julia C. Carter and husband, Terry of Anderson, SC, Wanda C. Webster of Hamlet, NC, and Martha C. Burr and husband, Roy of Enoree, SC; brother-in-law, L.C. Coates.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
