Evelyn Ruth Short

Hartsville, SC

Graveside services of Remembrance for Evelyn Ruth Short age 63 will be held 2:00pm Thursday at Beasley Cemetery.  Pastor Johnny Quick will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home.  The family will visit with friends following the services.

Evelyn passed away on Monday, June 15, 2021 at McLeod Hospice House with her loving family by her side.  She was born at Perry Clinic in Chesterfield, SC the daughter of the late Daniel Wilson and Lillie Mae Short.  Evelyn was a resident at the Thad E. Saleeby Center for 45 years.  She was one of God’s chosen children.

Left to cherish her memory are sisters, Carol Beasley, Hartsville, Margaret Roach, Cheraw, Martha Rivers, Florence, Kay (Larry) Lewis, Cheraw, Brenda (Frank) Kelly, Society Hill; brother in laws, Ben Davis, Leslie B. Davis, sister in law, Linda Gardner Short; nieces and nephews, Pam (Tony) Gillispie, Ricky Davis, Garth (Sherry) Davis, Suzanne Coulter, Lisa (Victor) Farmer, Kevin Stafford, Leslie S. (Sidney) Moore, Melissa (Tony) Bradshaw, Tammy (Jack) Crocker, Danny Gulledge, Vicky (Jody) Braswell, Jeffrey (Amanda) Short, Erin (Andy) Pigge, Elizabeth (Ryan) Norton, Kenneth P. (Joanna) Lewis; a special great niece, Kendal Mangum; many great and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Davis, brothers, Ed Short, Jimmy Short.

The family was like to thank the staff at Saleeby Center for the many years of wonderful care they gave Evelyn.
