VISITATION: 3:00 — 5:00 PM, Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home

HISTORY: Mr. Short was born January 29, 1929 in Ruby, SC a son of the late Lester Bart and Loney Elizabeth Steen Short. He was a faithful member of Clanton Plains Baptist Church, where he served as former deacon, and Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Short was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Farris was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend and neighbor to all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Michael "Mike" Short; 4 brothers, Sam, James, Gary, and Lee Burt Short; and 1 sister, Allie Hoffman.

3 Sons: Bart C. (Debbie) Short, Jerry F. Short, and Mickey Short, all of Ruby, SC
2 Daughters: Sue (Jeff) Zearfoss of Chesterfield, SC, and Lynn (John Wayne) Teal of Cheraw, SC
Companion: Bette Sue Melton Short of Ruby, SC
2 Brothers: Ray (Estelle) Short of Lancaster, SC and Julius (Vera) Short of Patrick, SC
1 Sister: Leila (Parvin) Eason of Ruby, SC
Also: 12 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews
