Fay Johnson Jett

Mrs. Fay Johnson Jett, age 69, entered into rest on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be 5:00 PM Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Providence Baptist Church by Dr. Roger Wall with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the committal service at the church.

Mrs. Jett was born July 27, 1948, in Monroe, NC, a daughter of the late Sam and Nellie Griffin Pressley. She was a former truck driver and a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher of the Ladies 2 class. She was active in the shut-in ministry and enjoyed visiting in their homes. Fay enjoyed talking and meeting people; she never met a stranger. Her favorite pastimes were communicating on Facebook and playing Farmville.

In addition to her parents, Fay was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Thomas Johnson; and 1 brother, Harold Pressley.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry L. Jett of the home; son, Scoot (Rosie Vickers) Johnson of Pageland, SC; 2 daughters, Ellen (Mike Lane) Eudy of Latta, SC, and Barbara “Bobbie” (Paul Jr.) Jones of Wingate, NC; grandchildren, Joshua (Katelynn) Eudy of Monroe, NC, Kari Hamill of Myrtle Beach, SC, Monica Airington, Johnathan Airington both of Pageland, SC, Brandon Jones and Brittany Jones both of Monroe, NC; and 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Sam “Tommy” (Floya) Pressley, Jr. of Peachland, NC, and Ervin (Shirley) Pressley of Monroe, NC; 3 sisters, Janice Carnes of Pageland, SC, Johnsie Plyler of Monroe, NC, and Lorraine Medlin of Liberty Hill, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews and special family friends, Annette and Daniel Griffin of Pageland, SC.
