Frances Jenkins

Greensboro, NC

Mrs. Frances Gilmore Jenkins, age 86, formerly of Chesterfield, SC, took her final journey and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Beacon Place Hospice House in Greensboro, NC.

She was born to the late Bunn T. Gilmore and Ida Rhynes Gilmore on April 15, 1930. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Willie R. Jenkins; young daughter, Shirley Jenkins; grandson, Kevin Lawrence; 3 brothers, Lester, Jeff, and Greno Gilmore; and 1 sister, Myrtle Hancock.

She is survived by her brother, Ray Gilmore; her sons, Richard B. Jenkins and wife Debbie, Roger D. Jenkins and wife Carol; daughter, Becky Jenkins Lee and husband Edward. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 13 great – grandchildren, and 2 great – great grandchildren, and also her beloved dog, “Kindy Lou.”

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2017 at Fairview Baptist Church in Mt. Croghan, SC by Rev. Ricky “Sweet” Jenkins and Rev. Richard Lee. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery next to her husband and daughter. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Following the committal service the family will host a reception in the church fellowship hall.
