DECEASED: Mr. Frank Thomas DeMiere, age 67, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

HISTORY: Mr. DeMiere was born, October 10, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Frank and Beatrice Lilian McCormick DeMiere. He was a college graduate, and began a long career in the food stores, beginning as a bag boy at the age of 12 years old. He climbed the ladder with Jewel Food Stores, working as a Stock Clerk, Apprentice Meat Cutter, Journeyman, Deli Manager, Fish Manager, and Assistant Market Business Manager. In 1975, Frank became the Meat Inspector for Jewel Food stores, and was responsible for selecting meats for distribution for all stores. Frank became Market Business Manager for Jewel Food stores in 1976 and held that position until 1985, when he and his family moved to Chesterfield, SC. In 1985, Frank and his wife, Carol, opened Frank and Carol's Finer Foods, where he was owner and operator for 25 years, until his retirement in 2010. Their store was selected as a former Business of the Year by the Greater Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce. Frank helped many young people and gave many their first job. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael DeMiere.

Mother-in-law: Jean Russell of Ruby, SC
Brother-in-law: James Russell of Ruby, SC
