HISTORY: Mr. Canipe was born November 5, 1928, in Newton, NC, a son of the late Fred Colon and Cordie Dell Clarke Canipe. He was a former truck driver and furniture builder, and was former owner and operator of B & M Furniture Manufacturing. Mr. Canipe was of the Baptist faith. Garland enjoyed feeding his horse and cows. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Stamey Canipe; daughter, Mary Ellen Canipe; 3 brothers, Glenn, Ray, and Everett Canipe; and a sister, Joyce Young.
