INTERMENT: will follow in Anson Memorial Park, Wadesboro, NC

VISITATION: 3:00 - 4:00 P.M. Monday, June 30, 2014 prior to the service at the Funeral Home

HISTORY: Mr. Canipe was born November 5, 1928, in Newton, NC, a son of the late Fred Colon and Cordie Dell Clarke Canipe. He was a former truck driver and furniture builder, and was former owner and operator of B & M Furniture Manufacturing. Mr. Canipe was of the Baptist faith. Garland enjoyed feeding his horse and cows. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Stamey Canipe; daughter, Mary Ellen Canipe; 3 brothers, Glenn, Ray, and Everett Canipe; and a sister, Joyce Young.

1 Daughter: Peggy (Mike) Raines of Chesterfield, SC
2 Brothers: Billy Canipe and Steve Canipe of Maiden, NC
3 Sisters: Vera Foster of Maiden, NC, Frances Dillinger of Pumpkin Center, NC, and Lois Mellon of Maiden, NC
Also 15 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild
