Frederick Paul "Freddie" Davis of 3944 Sam Jones Road, Patrick, South Carolina, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Born in Chesterfield, South Carolina, on October 3, 1958, Freddie was the son of the late James Monroe Davis and Esther Jones Davis.

Visitation will be Friday, October 25, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home at 318 E. Main Street, Chesterfield, SC. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Lower Macedonia Baptist Church at 5267 Teals Mill Road, Chesterfield, SC, with burial at Lower Macedonia Memorial Gardens.

Freddie is survived by his wife, Susan Sartor Davis, and a son, James Christian Davis, both of the home. Other survivors include three brothers: Jimmy Davis and Kenny (Joni) Davis of Patrick, SC and Rusty (Martha) Davis of Timmonsville, SC. He was predeceased by a fourth sibling, Michael Davis.

Freddie was a member of Lower Macedonia Baptist Church. A graduate of Chesterfield High School, Freddie was an Industrial Mechanic with BWB Mechanical. An avid USC Gamecock fan, Freddie passed down his love of sports to his son, James, and took great pride in his son's athletic abilities. Despite his strong work ethic, Freddie never allowed his job to interfere with his most important role as a father. He leaves his family with fond memories of support and encouragement by being present at every one of James' baseball and football games and many of his practices. Freddie understood that his presence and time were among the most important legacies he could leave his son.
