Mr. Fred J. Jenkins, age 61, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 12, 2021. A Going Home Celebration for he and his mother, Susie Moore Jenkins Rodgers will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 14, 2021 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Michael Davis, Rev. Ricky “Sweet” Jenkins, and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, August 13, 2021 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home. Mr. Jenkins was born March 8, 1960 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Lonnie Fred Jenkins and Susie Moore Jenkins Rodgers. He was a 1978 graduate of Chesterfield High School and a retired employee of Conbraco Industries. Fred was a member of Chesterfield Church of God and enjoyed attending Fairview Baptist Church with his family. He was also a member of the Ruby Masonic Lodge #314. A true outdoorsman, Fred enjoyed gardening, working on tractors, and restoring antique trucks. He was a man that always had time to stop and talk and he never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Faye Jackson Jenkins of the home; children, Beth (Markus) Wingate of Pageland, SC, Stacy (B.J.) Jackson of Ruby, SC, and Richard (Jennifer) Gaddy of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, J.P., Kal-El, and BoBo; brothers, Rev. Ricky “Sweet” (Joyce) Jenkins of Ruby, SC, and Randy (Amy) Jenkins of Cheraw, SC; sister, Margie (Michael) Black of Mt. Croghan, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved fur babies, “Jake,” and “Sissy.”
