Gary Nolan “G Man”, age 54, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Gary was born on September 29, 1965 in Bennettsville to the late Charlie Baxter Nolan and Vivian Joyce Gandy McLendon and the late Ronald A. McLendon. Gary was known by his family and friends as “G Man”. He is of the Baptist faith and was a mechanical supervisor with Flake Board. Gary loved working, watching NASCAR, collecting anything about Dale Earnhardt and anything else you could do with a race car. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Doris Taylor Nolan of Cheraw; son, Gary Christopher Nolan of Vass, NC; stepson, David Edgar Taylor of Chesterfield; mother, Vivian Joyce Gandy McLendon of Bennettsville; sisters, Tina Carol Ellis of Bennettsville, Vickie N. Davis (Scott) of Hartsville; stepbrother, Alan McLendon (Jenny) of Kissimmee, Florida; stepsister, Kari Bradley (Chris) of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Melody Nolan, Emmalyn Grace Taylor; and special nieces, nephews and great nieces.
Gary was preceded in death by his father listed above, and grandparents, Samuel and Vera Gandy.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive family and friends at the residence of Doris T. Nolan, 121 Etta Lane in Cheraw, SC and the residence of Joyce McLendon, 108 John St. in Bennettsville.
All in attendance are requested to abide by social distancing guidelines and wear facial coverings if able.
