Mr. George Eurice Hoover went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
Funeral Services for Mr. Hoover, 93 of Cameron, SC will be held 3:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2016 at Four Holes Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC with Rev. Tom McElhaney and Rev. Bruce Adams officiating with burial will be in the church cemetery directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg, SC. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM before the funeral service at the church and also following the funeral service the family will greet friends.
He was born October 6, 1922 in Pinehill, SC; the son of the late George Curtis Hoover and the late Flossie Mae Bloodworth Hoover. Mr. Hoover was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Four Holes Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC for over 45 years and a dear friend of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chesterfield, SC. Mr. Hoover was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 41 years, Hilda Mae Hill Hoover and brothers, Clifton, Chester and Grover Hoover; sisters; Daisy Hoover, Lessie Hoover Hill, brother-in-law; Everette Hill and sister-in-law, Grace Hoover.
Survivors include his only child, a daughter, Betty Lynn Hoover Watson and son-in-law; Jakie Watson III of Chesterfield, SC; two grandchildren; Rebecca Lynn Watson and Thomas Jakie Watson of Chesterfield, SC; nephews; Charles, John and Michael Hill of Cope, SC and Billy Hoover of Delaware; nieces, Deborah Hill of Cope, SC, Sandra H. Williams of North, SC and Nancy H. Schmidt, Katherine H. Wilcutts of Delaware and a host of great nieces and great nephews and great great nieces and nephews, his church families of Four Holes Baptist, Orangeburg, SC and St. Paul United Methodist Church of Chesterfield, SC and the loving staff and caregivers of the Chesterfield Convalescent Center in Cheraw, SC.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that Memorials be made to Four Holes Baptist Church; 1622 Four Holes Road. Orangeburg, SC 29115 or St. Paul United Methodist Church; 305 W. Main Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
