Gerald Dean "Punkin" Starling

Cheraw, SC 

 Mr. Gerald Dean “Punkin” Starling, age 68, entered into rest on Monday, July 22, 2024. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Forest Pine Church by Pastor Danny Malloy and Pastor Scott Wallace. The family will greet friends following the service at the church and at other times at the home of Heather and Ashley Brock. 

 Mr. Starling was born March 30, 1956 in Bennettsville, SC, a son of the late Woodrow Starling and Carrie Dixon Starling Brewington. Gerald graduated from Cheraw High School in 1974 before working at Chesterfield General Hospital and retiring from Duke Energy. Mr. Starling was a faithful member of C4 Church. He enjoyed rebuilding antique cars and deep-sea fishing. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Starling was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Starling. 

 Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Debbie Watson Starling of the home; children, Jason M. (Jamie) Starling, Sr. of Jacksonville, AL, Heather S. (Ashley) Brock of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Cheyenne S. (Andrew) Poore, Jason M. Starling, Jr., Lauren Brock, Kinsley Brock, Sophia Brock; great-grandchild, Aurora Poore; siblings, Joseph W. (Donna) Starling of Hartsville, SC, Debra E. (Bobby) Smith of Ellerbe, NC, Jay E. Starling of Florence, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
