DECEASED: Mr. Gerald A. Funderburk, age 84, died Saturday, March 8, 2014.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM, Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Jefferson United Methodist Church

INTERMENT: will follow in the Jefferson Town Cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends any time at the home.

HISTORY: Mr. Funderburk was born in Wadesboro, NC a son of the late Hazel Willis and Annie Coppedge Funderburk. He was the retired owner and operator of G.A. Funderburk Company and was a watermelon broker. Mr. Funderburk was a former member and past President of both the SC Watermelon Association and the National Watermelon Association. He was a former Lynches River Electric Coop. board member and a former member of the SC National Guard. G.A. was a lifelong, faithful, member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and watermelons. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sue Smith Funderburk; his brother, Tony Funderburk; and his sister Pat F. Hogan.

Grandson: Jason Mills of Columbia, SC
Sister-in-law: Mary Funderburk of Jefferson, SC
