Mr. Gladd Gainey, Jr., age 76, entered into rest on Sunday, May 16, 2021. A Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 21, 2021 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Dr. Ernest Winburn and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Lower Macedonia Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Gainey was born December 3, 1944 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Gladd Gainey, Sr. and Mary Ellen Gainey Weatherford. He was a self-employed truck driver with over 35 years of experience and a member of Lower Macedonia Baptist Church. Gladd enjoyed golfing, watching NASCAR, and playing poker.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gainey was also preceded in death by his wife, Ann Crowley Gainey; daughter, Dawn Marie Gainey; brothers, Johnny Lee Gainey, and Wayne Gainey; sisters, Kay Derryberry, Mary Louise Gainey, and Mary Lee Gainey; and granddaughter, Anna Grace.

Survivors include his children, Melinda Crawley, and Angie (Kevin) Thurman both of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Brittany Crawley, John Michael Crawley, Mary-Kaitlin Thurman, and Leah Thurman; sisters, Annie Harrison of Wedgefield, SC, Irene Williams of Patrick, SC, and Frances Rivers of Hartsville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
