Henley L. Jones, Sr.

Mr. Henley L. Jones, Sr., age 84, entered into rest on Saturday, March 2, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder by Rev. John L. Melton, III and the Honorable Rep. Rev. Richie Yow with burial to follow in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones was born June 21, 1934 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Paul Cornelius and Nezzie Boatwright Jones. Mr. Henley, along with his wife Margaret, founded Jones Furniture Mart of Cheraw. A U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Jones was also a member and Past Secretary of the Cheraw Masonic Lodge # 15. He enjoyed fishing and will be remembered as a true people person.

In addition to his parents, Henley was also preceded in death by his grandson, Henley Lee “Trey” Jones, III; and siblings, William “Bill” Jones, Margaret Hess, Loyd Jones, Ruth Davis Rivers, Ester Jones Davis, and Sam L. Jones.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Margaret T. Jones of the home; 2 sons, Henley Lee (Brandy) Jones, Jr., and John Paul Jones both of Cheraw, SC; daughter, Helen Jones Richardson of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Brandi Jones (Marty) Dixon of Lancaster, SC, Devin Lee Richardson of Florence, SC, Katelyn Sumter Richardson, and Hensley Brianna Jones both of Cheraw, SC; great grandson, Kamden Wade Richardson; also numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to longtime family friend,Sandy Watson for her friendship and love to the Jones family through the years. Also special thanks to caregivers, Gloria Coit and Jackie Rivers.
