Heyward D. Sullivan, Sr., 75, died Saturday, November 23, 2019. Born in Jefferson, SC he was a son of the late Luke and Leila Sullivan. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. He had a passion for old cars. He enjoyed traveling, going to an auction, riding his golf cart and spending time at the lake. He loved his grandkids and great grandkids. Heyward (Papa) lived a simple life that was transformed by the grace and love of Jesus Christ.
The family wishes to express their love and thankfulness for the wonderful care Mr. Sullivan received while he was in McLeod Regional Medical Center. The professionalism and compassion was sincere and heartfelt.
Surviving is his wife (of 57 years), Brenda Mills Sullivan of Cheraw, SC, a son, Heyward D. “Dan” (Kelly) Sullivan, Jr. of Hartsville, SC, daughters, Tana S. (Jim) Murray of Cheraw, SC, Ginger S. (Bill) Benson of Florence, SC, Dawn S. (Huey) Wallace of Cheraw, SC, Leah S. (Kevin) Alford of Johnsonville, SC, a brother, Joe Sullivan of Jefferson, SC, a sister-in-law, Estelle Sullivan of Jefferson, SC, a brother-in-law, David Jordan of Lancaster, SC, grandchildren, Hali (Matthew), Stephen, Rebeka (Banks), Kaci (Cody), Eleni, Sullivan, Bethany, Victoria, Trey, Payne, Levi, Clara, great grandchildren, Murray Charlotte, Mason, Hattie, Kodi-Grace, Bradford, Lili-Anna, Sobie, Olivia, also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, a brother, Olin Sullivan, sisters, Camilla (Fred) Rollins, Viola (Jeff) Gilmore, Jean Jordan, Martha Blanche (Robert) Miles, Sabren (Carroll) Reese and a sister-in-law, Betty Sullivan.
The family will receive friends 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Monday, November 25, 2019 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Kiser Funeral Home.
