HISTORY: Mr. Crawford was born April 13, 1927 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late J.R. and Viola Mayhue Wilkerson Crawford. He was a 1945 graduate of Zoar High School and a member of Zoar United Methodist Church. Over the years, "Mr. Horace" was a farmer, textile mill 2nd shift employee, salesman, and co-owner. After retirement, he drove a logging truck for the local sawmill. He enjoyed visiting and swapping stories at C.B. Eddins' store, church parties, Hardee's, BoJangles, and trips to the cow sales. Horace also treasured spending time with his family and watching the crops come up from the front porch on Snow Hill. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Thomas "Charlie" Crawford and Eugene "Gene" Crawford; and by one sister, Audrey Peeler.

4 Grandchildren: Amanda Shaw (Tom) Hashem, Thomas Shaw, Courtney Martin, and Gantt (Brooke) Martin
2 Great Grandchildren: Caroline Leah Hashem and Molly Dale Hashem
Nephews: Mike (Jennifer) Crawford of Chesterfield, SC, Robert "Bobby" (Dorothy) Peeler of Denver, NC
Niece: Suzanne "Suzie" (Woody) Wooten of Ocean Isle, NC
