Cheraw, SC. Mrs. Thelma Irene Smith Wallace Poston, age 82, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday May 21, 2016, surrounded by her family at her daughters home.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 5:00 P.M. Monday, May 23, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church

INTERMENT: to follow in the Church Cemetery

VISITATION: 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

HISTORY: Mrs. Poston was born December 28, 1933, in Hamlet, NC, a daughter of the late Belton and Nona Smith. She was a retired employee of Delta Mills, and a longtime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Irene enjoyed square dancing, reading, and traveling. In addition to her parents, Irene was also preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Wallace and Lurie Poston, 3 brothers, James, Rudolph, and Belton Smith, Jr., and by her 3 sisters: Lillian Barber, Clara Herndon, and Pearl Olerud.

SURVIVORS: 3 Daughters: Peggy Wallace, Darlene Flowers, and Debbie McCauley all of Cheraw, SC 2 Grandchildren: Amy Flowers and Suzanne McCauley and 1 Great Grandchild: Tranzley Adcock 2 Brothers:Marshall Smith of Laurel Hill, NC and Floyd Smith of Hamlet, NC Special Caregiver: Diane Burr
