HISTORY: Mr. Jackson was born March 17, 1940 in Jefferson, SC a son of the late Geneva Jackson Self and J. B. Gainey. He was a retired carpenter and former owner of Jackson Roofing. Mr. Jackson was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. J. Roy enjoyed fishing and farming and loved animals. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Frances J. Smith Jackson and a son, Marty R. Jackson.
