DECEASED: Mr. James Howard Barefoot, Sr., age 80, died Monday, March 30, 2009

FUNERAL SERVICE: 4:00 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Hartsville, SC

INTERMENT: will follow in the Church Cemetery.

VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the home of his daughter, Linda Stokes, 1008 Stokes Drive, Hartsville, SC

HISTORY: Mr. Barefoot was born October 1, 1928 in Columbia, SC a son of the late Lawrence Morgan Barefoot and Roxie Perdue Barefoot. He was a retired truck driver with Guinyard Freight Lines with 46 years of service. Howard was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II and a member of the DAV Post 72. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald Ingram, Jr. and by his sister, Margaret Parnell.

7 Daughters: Rhonda (Jimmy) Drew of Ruby, SC, Joyce (Don) Plattner of Memphis, TN, Linda (Johnny Mac) Stokes, Barbara Melton, and Kathy Wallace of Hartsville, SC, Tracie (Keith) Slamcik of Gastonia, NC, and Kathy Barefoot of Charleston, W. VA
1 Brother: Carroll (Barbara) Barefoot of Hartsville, SC
Also: 21 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild
