VISITATION: is 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home
HISTORY: Mr. Gainey was born May 25, 1925 in Patrick, SC a son of the late J.J. and Nora McLain Gainey. He was a former timber producer, former owner of Gainey's Texaco, and retired from Pageland Screen Printers. J.E. was a member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church for the past 55 years, where he served as a former Deacon. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. In addition to his parents, J.E. was also preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Hill Gainey, and by four brothers; W. P., Erby, Bill, and M.J. Gainey.

3 Sons: Caston (Kathy) Gainey of Smithville, MS, Carlton (Kitty) Gainey of Cheraw, SC and James E. "Buddy" (Colleen) Gainey, Jr. of Melbourne, Fl
2 Daughters: Drusilla J. (Doug) Hungerford of Hartsville, SC and Cynthia (Ned) Mount of Salisbury, NC
2 Brothers: Charlie Gainey of Kannapolis, NC and Redmond Gainey of Rock Hill, SC
Also 16 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren
