Mr. James Lewis Jordan, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church by Pastor Johnny Cassada, Reverend Tim Williams, Reverend Todd Robinson, and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, September 15, 2023 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mr. Jordan was born September 17, 1941 at home in Pageland, SC, a son of the late Earl and Ethel Demby Jordan. He graduated from Pageland High School in 1960. He served in the SC Army National Guard from 1960 – 1966. He was an employee of Pageland Screen Printers for 25 years and Culp Weaving in Pageland for 17 years. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jefferson, SC, where he faithfully served as Deacon, Usher, and Choir Member. He enjoyed going to the mailbox and picking up pinecones to keep the yard looking good.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jordan was also preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Jordan, JD Jordan; and sisters, Earline Hicks, Diane Caldwell, Martha Robertson, and Elsie Price.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 ½ years, Evelyn Rollings Jordan; his daughters, Donna (Todd) Robinson of Lancaster, SC, and Denise (Jimmy) Bradley of Pageland, SC; his son, Michael Jordan (Courtney Sullivan) of Jefferson, SC; granddaughters, Nicole (Chuck) Dean, Autumn Robinson, Savanna Bradley, Ashley Robinson, Suzanne Jordan, and Grayson Jordan; two great – grandchildren, Charlie and Everly Dean; brother, Harold (Jerri) Jordan of Pageland, SC and sister, Ruby (Joel) Outen of Charlotte, NC.
The family is grateful for the exceptional care Mr. James received from the staff of Agape Hospice of Lancaster. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Michelle, a compassionate nurse, as well as CNA's Amanda and Felicia, along with other dedicated caregivers. Their selfless love and support during this difficult time provided comfort to both Mr. James and his family.
