James Robert Loyd

 Mr. James Robert Loyd, age 79, entered into rest on Thursday, June 20, 2024. A time of sharing of memories and visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 between the hours of 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. Loyd was born June 12, 1945 in Darlington, SC a son of the late Major Loyd and Ella Mae Hall Wilson. He was employed with Nucor Steel Corporation for many years and was the founder and operator of Hide-Out Campground and Riding Stables. A true people person, James enjoyed time spent with friends at the campground and enjoyed riding the trails on horse and buggy.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Loyd was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Helms Loyd; step-father, Robert Wilson; brothers, Bo Lloyd, Donald Wilson, and Julious Wilson, and an infant sister.

Survivors include his sons, Teddy Lee Loyd of Patrick, SC, and Timmy Wayne (Melba) Loyd of Bishopville, SC; daughters, Diane (Ray) Owensby of Chesterfield, SC, and Louise (Matt) Buchanan of Landis, NC; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Howard Wilson of Patrick, and Larue Wilson of Hartsville, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
