DECEASED: Mr. James Perry Turnage, age 76, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his home
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel
VISITATION: will be immediately following the service at the funeral home
Mr. Turnage was born August 23, 1937 in Patrick, SC a son of the late Estelle Cassidy Turnage. He was a retired auto mechanic. Perry was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the USS Lake Champlain crew which was selected for the recovery of the first manned American Space Flight Freedom 7 and astronaut, Alan Sheppard on May 1, 1961. Perry enjoyed spending time at the Patrick General Store talking with his buddies. In addition to his parents, Perry was also preceded in death by his 12 siblings.

1 Son: Junior Turnage of Bristol, FL
1 Daughter: Connie (Steve) Lantz of Freeport, FL
Also 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Patrick Rescue Squad or the Patrick Fire Department
