James Ronny Wilkerson

Mr. James Ronny Wilkerson, age 69, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, June 23, 2018 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Clanton Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilkerson was born July 16, 1948 in Ruby, SC a son of the late James Thornel Wilkerson and Leila Mae Oliver Wilkerson Oliver. Ronny was a retired employee of both Jim’s Variety Shop with 10 years of service, and Continental Tire with over 33 years of service. A U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, Mr. Wilkerson was a member of Clanton Plains Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and former Sunday school superintendent. He enjoyed watching racing and boxing and was always willing to help a neighbor in need. His greatest passion was his family and was always looking out for his baby girl, Wendy.

In addition to his parents, Ronny was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Ray Wilkerson; and brother-in-law, Dean Ratliff, Sr.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Nell Ratliff Wilkerson of the home; daughter, Wendy Wilkerson (Michael) Sellers of the home; 4 sisters, Bonnie Wilkerson (Jimmy) McCormick of Lilesville, NC, Cathy Wilkerson (Bucky) Parker, Deborah Wilkerson Smith both of Cheraw, SC, and Sherry Ann Wilkerson of Chesterfield, SC; sisters-in-law, Joyce Mills, Iris R. Deese, Debbie Smith Wilkerson all of Ruby, SC, Myrtle Ratliff of Cheraw SC and Jan R. Parker of Chesterfield, SC; brother-in-law, Billy (Vickie) Ratliff of Ruby, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews.
