Janet Merriman Gaddy

Mrs. Janet Merriman Gaddy, age 82, joined her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 22, 2023. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 28^, 2023 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with Brent Taylor officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Gaddy was born April 22, 1941 a daughter of the late William Hudson Davis and late Kathleen Griggs Davis Turner and was raised by her step-dad, Paul Turner. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Gaddy was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and was a former member Refuge Baptist Church, a former member of Oakland Baptist Church and a member of Providence Presbyterian Church of Concord, NC.  Mrs. Janet Gaddy retired from The Bank of Chesterfield/First Citizens Bank after 45 years. Throughout her career she loved assisting her banking clients and was recognized with multiple Top Performer Awards by First Citizens Bank.  Mrs. Gaddy loved her Lord, her family, the Chesterfield Community, and her Crescent Heights friends in Concord, NC.  In truth, she loved everyone and to know her was to love her in return!

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gaddy was also preceded in death by her husband’s John Garry Merriman and Jimmy Lee Gaddy; brother, Faye Davis; sister-in-Law, Emily Ruth Davis; and brother-in-law, Eddie Gibson.

Survivors include her son, Marty Merriman (Heather) of Hartsville, SC; daughter, Dana Merriman McCorkle (Chris) of Concord, NC; beloved grandson, Turner McCorkle; sisters, Mary Gibson of Laurinburg, NC, and Jean Cato (Julian) of Chesterfield, SC and many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends Shaun Quan of Concord, NC and Lessie Smith of Chesterfield, SC.

Memorials may be given to Providence Presbyterian Church 246 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord, NC  28025.
