Janice Lee Freeman

Cheraw, SC

Mrs. Janice Lee Freeman, age 66, entered into rest on Thursday, January 17, 2019. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, January 20, 2019 in the original sanctuary of Westfield Creek Baptist Church by Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday from 3:00 – 4:00 PM prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.

Mrs. Freeman was born October 2, 1952 in the Hinson Hill community of Cheraw, SC to the late Samuel Burtis and Edna Sellers Lee. A graduate of Chesterfield High School, Janice went on to attain her Associates Degree in Business Administration and Accredited Records Technician from Chesterfield-Marlboro TEC. She was the inaugural recipient of the Miss Chesterfield – Marlboro TEC. Mrs. Freeman was a former employee of Chesterfield General and worked for many years with the George Hartsell Law Firm. Janice was a member of Westfield Creek Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. Her hobbies included crocheting, crafting, cross stitching, needleworking, and playing the piano. She will be fondly remembered for her selfless love and was always reaching out to help others and especially her family.

In addition to her parents, Janice was also reunited in heaven with her son, Thomas Clinton Freeman, III; and brother, Danny Lee.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 45 years, Thomas “Tommy” C. Freeman of the home; grandchildren, Madelyn Adel Freeman and Haiden Thomas Freeman; brother, Ronnie (Diane) Lee of Florence, SC; sisters-in-law, Sue Lee and Deborah Freeman both of Cheraw, SC and Suzanne (William) Gainey of Chesterfield, SC and Sharon Corey of Chesterfield, SC; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sara) Freeman; nieces and nephews, Will (Sara Kay) Gainey, Erin (Tyler) Griggs, Jay (Haley) Gainey, Blake (Krystal) Corey, Logan Johnson, Hannah Farr, Mattie Jayne Freeman, Ellie Jo Freeman, Michelle (Patrick) Davis, Sara (John) Sanderson, Danny (Sarah) Lee, Dale (Wendy) Lee, and Angela Lee; great nieces and great nephews, Austin, Daniel, Madison, Lydia, Alex, Samantha, Lawson, Cash, Loch, Betty Jayne, and Stephen.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to nurses, Connie Chewning and Stephanie Falise of McLeod Hospice, for their love, friendship, and care shown to Janice and her family.
