HISTORY: Mr. Tarlton was born June 1, 1924 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Alexander Williams and Mary Tarlton Grooms. He was a retired pulpwood cutter. In addition to his parents, Jake was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Boone Tarlton and two sisters, Volise Grooms and Viola W. Dunn.

1 Daughter: Pauline Donahue of Chesterfield, SC
6 Grandchildren including special granddaughter and caregiver Jeri Lynn (Michael) Shannon of Chesterfield, SC
1 Sister: Gracie McIntyre of Kannapolis, NC
