Jennie Moore Melton

Ruby, SC

          Mrs. Jennie Moore Melton, age 71, entered into rest on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at her home. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Reverend Donald Deal and Reverend Ricky "Sweet" Jenkins with burial to follow in the Ruby Church of God Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

          Mrs. Melton was born February 11, 1951 in Ruby, SC a daughter of the late Henry C. and Myrtle Lear Moore. She was a retired employee of Conbraco Industries and a former employee of Caro-Knit, and Challenger. Jennie was a member of Ruby Church of God and a very talented seamstress and cook. She was known for her 9-layer chocolate cake. Jennie also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially their trips to the mountains.

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Melton was also preceded in death by her brothers, Doug, Ray, Ellis, and William Moore; and sisters, Mary Hartley, and Susie Jenkins Rodgers; nephews, Fred Jenkins, Wayne Hartley, and Scottie Brigman.

          Survivors include her husband, Carroll Melton of the home; sons, Dustin Carroll Melton, and Keith Jackson both of Ruby, SC; step-sons, Tim (Deborah) Melton, and Jamie (Marlene) Melton both of Ruby, SC; 1 grandson; 1 great grandson; and 1 step granddaughter; sisters, Rachael (Homer) Hodge of Ruby, SC, Debbie (Zeyad) Mona of Weddington, NC, and Betty Jo (John) Eubanks of Pageland, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
