Mr. Jerry H. “Joe” Black, age 74, entered into rest on Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home. Funeral Services will be 12:00 PM Thursday, November 9, 2017 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Dr. Troy Rogers with burial to follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11:00 – 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Johnny and Daphine Black, 471 Taylor Loop Rd, Ruby, SC.

Mr. Black was born May 10, 1943 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late William Pete and Mammie Mae Joplin Black. He was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing and attended Cross Roads Baptist Church. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Black was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph Hayward "Joey" Black; a brother, Hazel Ray Black; sisters, Elsie Black and Doris Melton.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Price Black of the home; son, Johnny (Daphine) Black of Ruby, SC; grandson, Justin Black of the home; granddaughters, Ashley (Chris) Stancil of Ruby, SC, Kimberly (Thomas) Knight of Chesterfield, SC, and Samantha (Ben) Knight of Jefferson, SC; great grandchildren, Kaylin Knight, Trent Knight, Kameron Knight, August Stancil, Presley Stancil, and Jaxton Knight; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
