INTERMENT: will follow in the Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery

VISITATION: is 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the funeral home


HISTORY: Mr. Melton was born April 15, 1928 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Lonnie and Lela Wallace Melton. He was a former manager of the Phillip's 66 station in Cheraw and was a retired employee of Klopman Mills. Mr. Melton was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Jessie enjoyed fishing, music, and playing the guitar. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Williams Melton; daughter, Mary Melton Davis; son, Jessie Evans Melton; a grandson, Christopher Evans Davis; and by three brothers and three sisters.

5 Grandsons: Jack Melton, Jacob (Alison) Melton, Drake (Leslie) Melton, Leon "Junior" Davis, Jr. and Shawn Davis
7 Great Grandchildren: Lily Melton, Hailee Melton, Josie Melton, Baylee Melton, Mary Melton, Journey Davis, and Clayton Melton
