Mr. Jimmy Lee Gaddy, age 79, joined his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 5, 2020. A Celebration of Life Service will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Julian Cato and Rev. Donald Wallace, Sr. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Due to the continued COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times. The family would like for all attending the service to please consider wearing a face covering.

Mr. Gaddy was born September 23, 1940 in Wadesboro, NC a son of the late James Willall Gaddy and Margaret Eddins Gaddy Carter. Jimmy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Gaddy was a member of the NC National Guard Reserves, Refuge Baptist Church, and a former member of Oakland Baptist Church. A lifelong farmer, he was a lover of cattle and a gifted mechanic. He freely shared his mechanical knowledge with many young men and was the undisputed tractor expert in this area. He was employed with state and local highway departments and Warden & Smith Concrete as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. In addition to his mechanical abilities Jimmy was also known for his infectious laugh and great sense of humor.  He never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gaddy was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Judy Gaddy Rayfield, and Patricia Gaddy Diggs.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 41 years, Janet D. Gaddy of the home; son, Marty Merriman of Cheraw, SC; daughter, Dana Merriman (Chris) McCorkle of Concord, NC; grandson, Turner McCorkle; brother, Richard Allen Gaddy of Cheraw, SC; and sister, Norma Gray Gaddy Adams of Mt. Croghan, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
