DECEASED: Mrs. Jo Anne Thompson Rivers, age 82, died Saturday, December 25, 2010, at Springs of Catawba in Hickory, NC where she was a resident.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Mt. Croghan United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mt. Croghan, SC

VISITATION: will follow the service in the church

HISTORY: Mrs. Rivers was born November 19, 1928 in Lancaster County, SC a daughter of the late James Hoyt and Anna McQuage Thompson. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School and a retired outreach worker with Chesterfield County Office of Economic Development. Mrs. Rivers was a member of Mt. Croghan United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Jo Anne was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd David Rivers, and three brothers and one sister.

1 Son: Lloyd David Rivers and wife Sally Ann of Taylorsville, NC
1 Daughter: Carol Dean Rivers Steedley of Mt. Pleasant, SC
4 Grandchildren: Douglass and Hilary Rivers and Deanna and Mara Steedley
