VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the funeral home

HISTORY: Mrs. Melton was born March 16, 1939 in Chesterfield, SC, a daughter of the late Jack O. and Doris Odom Rivers. She was a former employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing. Mrs. Melton was a member of the WOW Lodge 516 and Oakland Baptist Church. Joan was married to the late Rev. Floyd Melton, Jr. and was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky Melton and a brother John Rivers.
