Joan Dale Lear

Mrs. Joan Dale Lear, age 74, entered into rest on Thursday, February 1, 2018 and was reunited with her beloved husband, William Walter Lear. A gathering of friends and family to reflect and remember her life will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lear was born December 28, 1943 in Patrick, SC a daughter of the late John Murphy “Byrd” Griggs and Eula Mae Brown Griggs. Among the many things Dale loved to do, her favorite was singing. Whether it was singing to the residents at the nursing home, ministering to families at a funeral, or celebrating at a wedding ceremony, she was proud to share her gift of singing with others.

Dale, along with her beloved and faithful husband Willie, logged a many mile of Chesterfield County and beyond attending revivals, church singings, and any special services they could be a part of.

Dale loved the Lord with all her heart and didn’t hesitate to give her testimony through words or song. Her life left an impression on everyone she met.

Survivors include her daughter, Tonya (Eddie) Williams of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Ethan Williams, Amanda (Roger) Baskins, Elizabeth (Kenneth) O’Neal, and Lillian Green; siblings, Shirley (Bob) Keefe, Janie B. Jones both of Patrick, SC, Sue Jones of Hartsville, SC, Roger Griggs of Patrick, SC, Joe (Janice) Griggs of Cheraw, SC, Mary Lou (Ted) Riley of FL, Johnny (Evelyn) Griggs of Patrick, SC, and Leisa (Jeff) Jacobs of Mt. Croghan, SC.
