JoAnne Poindexter Todd

Jefferson, SC

          It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of JoAnne Todd, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. JoAnne passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023 at the age of 65 in Jefferson, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 PM Thursday, May 11, 2023 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

          JoAnne was born on July 27, 1957, and grew up in Charlotte, NC where she worked at Wal-Mart for 15 years, and as a school bus driver for CMS schools.

          JoAnne is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Johnnie Wayne Todd. JoAnne raised three wonderful children, Kristi Beaver, Eric (Traci) Grubbs, and Aaron (Michelle) Grubbs from a previous marriage; siblings, Debbie Williams, Howard Poindexter, Susan Briggs, and Steve Martin; numerous nieces and nephews including Angella Gainey, and Johnny Gainey.

          In addition to her parents, JoAnne was also preceded in death by her best friend and sister-in-law, Sherry T. Hall; and sisters, Peggy Craver, and Lisa Martin.

          JoAnne had a passion for music, and her beautiful voice could always be heard singing her favorite tunes. She had a special gift for making baby dolls and would often gift them to families for emotional support.  She also loved spending time with her beloved dog, Bo, who was always by her side.

          JoAnne was a grandmother to 10 grandchildren. She was a kind, compassionate, and loving person who touched the lives of many. JoAnne will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will be cherished forever, and she will always hold a special place in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

          The family would like to express their gratitude to all who have shown their love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a humane society or homeless shelter of one’s choice.
