Joel Lee Mills

Chesterfield, SC

Mr. Joel Lee Mills, age 80, entered into rest on Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. A private family graveside service will be held at Mt. Croghan Memorial Park.

Mr. Mills was born July 7, 1940 in Marshville, NC a son of the late Joe Lee and Martha Rayfield Mills. He was a retired self-employed truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. Joel was a life-long cattle farmer and enjoyed being outdoors raising and tending to his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mills was also preceded in death by his sister, Joanne M. Knight; brothers, Bobby Lynn Mills, Archie Mills, and Roger Mills; sisters-in-law, Mary Funderburk, and Greta B. Mills.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Judy Mungo Mills of the home; brothers-in-law, Charles Knight, and Bo Mungo both of Pageland, SC; sisters-in-law, Kathy Mills of Charleston, SC, Theda Lynn, and Elaine Hendrix both of Pageland, SC; numerous nieces and nephews including Martha Knight, and Steve Knight both of Lugoff, SC, and Steve & Kathy Jackson of Pageland, SC.

The family wishes to express a special Thank You to their loving caregivers, Nora Richardson, and Stephanie Terry, and the entire staff of Regency SouthernCare Hospice of Chesterfield for their exceptional care, love, and support.
