 Mr. John “Johnny” Edward Lindsey, affectionately known as “Curly” by his hunting buddies and friends went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 with his family by his side. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2025 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Scott Gibson and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Mt. Croghan Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2025 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home and other times at the home, 308 First Street, Mt. Croghan, SC.

 

Mr. Lindsey was born on February 22, 1944, in Ohio, to the late Joseph R. Lindsey and Evelyn Windsor Lindsey West. He was a dedicated employee of Highland Industries with over 41 years of service before retiring. A long-time member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Pageland, he enjoyed playing the guitar for his church family. A true outdoorsman, Curly enjoyed deer hunting as a member of the Sandland Hunting Club and also enjoyed raising and training his rabbit dogs. He was known for his love of classic television shows such as "Gunsmoke" and "The Andy Griffith Show", as well as wrestling. Known for his cooking skills, Johnny loved preparing meals for his family and friends. He lived a humble Christian life, displaying deep love for his Lord, family, and dear friends. He cherished his role as a grandfather and was lovingly referred to by many as “Pa Johnny.”

 

In addition to his parents, Johnny is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 56 years, Bonnie Jordan Lindsey; son, Wayne Lindsey; grandson, Justin Wayne Lindsey; and brothers, Charles Lindsey and Jimmy Lindsey.

 

He is survived by his children, Tim (Donna) Lindsey of Ruby, SC; Rev. Kenneth (Cindy) Lindsey of Chesterfield, SC; and Samantha (Dustin) Ricketts of Mt. Croghan, SC; daughter-in-law, Crystal Jordan Lindsey of Kershaw, SC; grandchildren, Kerri (Matt) Davis, Kayla (Chris) Thompson, Anna (Stacy) McManus, Jordan Ricketts, and Nate Ricketts; great-grandchildren, Ava, Brantlee, Sawyer, Davis, Christian, and Lily; and siblings, Earl (Shirley) Lindsey of Ruby, SC; Joe (Linda) Lindsey of Flowery Branch, GA; Jerry (Kelly) Honeycutt of Ruby, SC; Terry Honeycutt of Jefferson, SC; and Marvin Honeycutt of Hartsville, SC.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
