Johnnie Outen Oliver

Mrs. Johnnie Outen Oliver, age 94, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, August 11, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Beth H. Muse with burial to follow in the Ruby Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Oliver was born on May 20, 1930, in Pageland, SC, a daughter of the late Clon W. and Estelle Sutton Outen. Mrs. Oliver was a dedicated individual who graduated from Jefferson High School and went on to establish Oliver Tax Service, which she owned and operated for over six decades.

A faithful member of Ruby Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Johnnie served as an Elder and gave of her time and talents in service to the Lord. Her commitment extended beyond the church, as she fulfilled the role of Treasurer for the Ruby Cemetery Association for many years. Additionally, she was actively involved in the American Legion Auxiliary.

In her leisure time, Mrs. Oliver found joy in various hobbies including shopping, tending to her flower gardens, and fishing. Known for her kind and gentle nature, she touched the hearts of all who knew her and will be deeply missed by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Oliver was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Oliver.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Bart Smith (Caroline) Oliver of Lancaster, SC, William Zinnamon “Zinny” Oliver of Ruby, SC, and Craig Wilson (Rita) Oliver of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Leslie James Hunter, Charlotte Grace Hunter, and Faith Michelle Oliver; great grandchildren, Shiloh Gray Tweed, and River Grace Tweed; brother, Don S. (Viola) Outen of Ruby, SC; sister, Carol O. Johnson of Chesterfield, SC; numerous nieces and nephews including special nieces, Casey Moore, and Donna Curtis.
