Mr. John Quincy Adams, age 81, entered into rest on Monday, May 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2018 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Danny Malloy, Don Vaughn, and Pastor Chad Vick with burial to follow in the Anson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mr. Adams was born April 21, 1937 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Dudley and Violet Lowery Adams. He was a retired supervisor with Dan River, Inc. with over 30 years of service and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. A member of Forest Pine Church, John enjoyed working in God’s creation in his flowers and doing yard work. His favorite pastimes included going out to eat, cooking, watching westerns, keeping an eye on his chickens, and “spoiling” his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by numerous siblings; 1 daughter, Vickie Shaw; and granddaughter, Faith Spencer.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Cheryl G. Adams of the home; children, Anita (Brian) Spencer, Johnnie Sue Gaskins both of Patrick, SC, Beth (Jamie) Flowers of Society Hill, SC, and Erica (Derek) Rayfield of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Mary Lynn (Daniel Gulledge) Woodward of Cheraw, SC, Brandi (Pee Wee) Jordan of Chesterfield, Jessica (Justin) Hodges, Keri (Drake) Horton both of Hartsville, SC, Kayla (Lance) Smith of Chesterfield, SC, Zach Gaskins, Logan Gaskins, Tanner Gaskins all of Patrick, SC, Caroline Greene of Chester, SC, Claudia Flowers of Society Hill, SC, Carlee Rayfield of Chesterfield, SC, and Avah Flowers of Society Hill, SC; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Adams of Chesterfield, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews including special niece, Geraldine (Ricky) Malloy of Cheraw, SC; and special nephew, James (Jean) Adams of Siler City, NC; and his beloved pet, “Hannah”
