Mr. John Robert Adams, age 77, entered into rest on Monday, August 16, 2021. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Friendship United Methodist Church by Rev. Robert Rivers and Brent Taylor. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. Friends may visit Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home between the hours of 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Wednesday, August 18, 2021 for a time of viewing and paying of respects.

Mr. Adams was born May 23, 1944 in the Cason Old Field community of Anson County, NC to the late Robert and Myrtle Hancock Adams. He was a graduate of Morven High School and a retired employee of Burlington Industries with over 25 years of service. John, along with his son Robbie, was the co-owner and operator of Chesterfield Tire since 1987. He was a member of White Oak Presbyterian Church. A true outdoorsman, Mr. Adams enjoyed working in his garden and watching his grandchildren play. He also enjoyed watching old westerns and going out to eat.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Charles Bailey; and niece, Tia Bailey Newsome.
Survivors include his sons, Robbie (Gloria Dennis) Adams of Chesterfield, SC, and Greg (Andrea) Adams of Bethune, SC; daughter, Angie Adams (Doren) Jackson of Chesterfield, SC; and their mother, Gladys Butler of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Adam (Hannah Springer) Jordan, Kerri (Rontavious) Rivers, Raelyn Player, Lacey Edwards, and Stuart Steen; great grandchildren, Shayla, Jozalyn, Dawson, Luke, Waylon, Madison, Taylan, Presley, and Dalton; sister, Doris Adams Bailey of Hartsville, SC; niece, Monica Bailey of Savannah, GA; nephew, Russ (Rachel) Bailey of Washington, DC; and special caregiver for the past year, Wanda Dixon of Cheraw, SC.
