Joseph L. "Joe" Hatchell

Cheraw, SC

          Mr. Joseph Leon “Joe” Hatchell, age 81, entered into rest on Friday, November 11, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Darrell Hatchell with burial to follow in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

          Mr. Hatchell was born April 26, 1941 in Cheraw, SC a son of the late James Leon and Sarah Josephine Harding Hatchell. He was a former employee of Burlington Industries and a retired employee of Monumental Life Insurance Company. Joe was a member of Westside Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and going out to eat, but most of all being “Pa” to his grandchildren.

          In addition to his parents, Mr. Hatchell was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Delilah Catherine Hatchell; brother, Bobby Hatchell; and grandson, James Darrell Hatchell, Jr.

          Survivors include his sons, Eric (Carolyn) Hatchell of Cheraw, SC, and Pastor Darrell (Tammie) Hatchell of Granite Falls, NC; daughter, Shannon Hatchell of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Joseph (Diedra) Hatchell of Lynchburg, SC, Corbin Hatchell of Ruby, SC, Christie Hatchell of Granite Falls, NC, Catherine (Jamie) Caulder of Cheraw, SC, Joshua (Samantha) Brigman, of Cheraw, SC, Savannah (Will) Jacobs of Cheraw, SC; great grandchildren, Kinsey Hatchell, Joey Hatchell, III, Kodak Hatchell, Remington Hatchell, James Noah (Emma) Bumgarner, Jenna Nicole Bumgarner, Micah Nathaniel Bumgarner, Ivy Leighann Payne, Everleigh Jacobs, Danica Caulder, Jaxson Caulder, Stella Rhae Brigman, and Hazel Grace Jacobs; and great – great grandchild, Raelynn Leigh Odom.
