HISTORY: Mr. Studebaker was born December 10, 1927, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a son of the late Joseph Elizah Studebaker, Sr. and Mildred Hazel Catron Studebaker. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Mr. Studebaker was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corp., having served for 26 years. He was a WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War Veteran. Master Sergeant Studebaker was a decorated Veteran, having received numerous medals and awards, including 2 Purple Hearts. Following his military career, he became a teacher in Beaufort, SC., where taught history for many years. Mr. Studebaker was a collector of coins, tokens, and military medals. He also enjoyed photography and was a history buff. Joseph was a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Joseph was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph E. "Joe" Studebaker, III.

Wife of over 56 years: Sadako Morikawa Studebaker of the home.
Daughter-in-law: Mona McNally Studebaker of Patrick, SC
2 Granddaughters: Lisa S. (Bryan) Tolson and Erin E. Studebaker both of Patrick, SC
