It is with deep sorrow that the Wood family announces the death of Mrs. Juanita Gibson Wood, 78, of Sylacauga, AL, formerly of Hartsville, SC.

Mrs. Wood, the widow of Bob Wood, entered into rest on Friday, July 1, 2022. A memorial service to honor her life at 2 o'clock on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Solid Rock Mission for Christ Church, 1415 E. Home Avenue, Hartsville, SC. The Rev. Bill Nelson will officiate, and the family will receive friends at a reception in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.

Born on January 11, 1944, Mrs. Wood was the daughter of the late Willie and Virginia Gibson. She graduated from Hartsville High School, class of 1962, and Coker College.

Surviving are her daughter, Sara Beth Merriman, of Sylacauga; sons, John Merriman of Alabama and William Merriman of Indiana; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Beth Gibson Byerly of Hartsville; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Wood, and her brother, Nelson Gibson.
