Juanita King Gulledge

Chesterfield, SC

Mrs. Juanita King Gulledge, age 82, entered into rest on Monday, July 16, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Ruby Baptist Church by Pastor Ronald Thurman and Rev. Bill Brock with burial to follow in the Ruby Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 - 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Gulledge was born November 9, 1935, in Chesterfield, SC, a daughter of the late Arthur Ellison and Lula Mae Polson King. She retired as Personnel Manager with Bo-Buck Mills in Chesterfield, SC.  A faithful member of Ruby Baptist Church, Juanita served as former GA leader, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and was active in the WMU.  Her hobbies included cooking, baking, fishing, and taking care of others.

In addition to her parents, Juanita was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Henry L. Gulledge; 6 brothers, Carvin, L. Gilbert, Thurman, Floyd, Ted, and Jack King; and 2 sisters, Margaret Yates and Esther Mae Smith.

Survivors include her daughter of the heart, Beth K. (Henry) Suggs of Chesterfield, SC; grandsons of the heart, Bryce and Alex Suggs of Chesterfield, SC; 2 brothers, J.W. King of Florence, SC, and William “Bill” King of GA; sister, Sara Hopper of CA; special nieces and nephew, Nancy K. (Bill) Brock, Rebecca K. (Tim) Polson, and Gilbert T. (Renee) King, all of Chesterfield, SC, and other nieces and nephews; special great nieces and great nephews, English Brock, Eliza Brock, Bailey Polson, Bella Polson, Hailey King, and other great nieces and great nephews; sisters-in-law, Evelyn King, Rachel King, and Virginia King all of Chesterfield, SC.
