FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel

INTERMENT: will follow at the Patrick Cemetery

VISITATION: 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Funeral Home.

HISTORY: Judge Simpson was born July 25, 1950 in Patrick, SC a son of Ophelia Boatwright Simpson and the late Daniel Lee Simpson. He was a 1968 graduate of Cheraw High School and received his B.S. degree in Business Administration at Coker College. Mr. Simpson was a Chesterfield County Magistrate Court Judge. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, and was a member of AMVETS, VFW, and the DAV. Judge Simpson was a former member of the Patrick Rescue Squad for many years and was a concealed weapon and gun safety instructor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cheraw. Van was an avid Clemson fan. In addition to his father, Van was also preceded in death by a sister, Dianne S. Chisholm.

4 Nephews: Derek Lewallen, Chad Lambert, Gary (Glorian) Chisholm and Johnny (Sherrie) Chisholm
3 Nieces: Dana Chisholm, Alli Freeman, and Rachel Freeman
